| The Old Memorial Hall |
Building for the future
Our memorial hall, built in 1886 at a cost of £3673.00 has been closed since December 2006 because
the structure has become unsafe for public use. The old hall was
finally demolished in July 2009 and will be replaced with a new purpose built hall which will enable us to extend
and expand our range of services to the community.
We here at West Green Baptist Church believe that the examples set by our predecessor (their faith ,their
vision and dedication) applies to us today, in order to prepare the way for the generations to come. If you are interested in helping, we invite you to join with us in
this project.
The Project
The
Memorial Hall Building Project was officially launched in July 2000. We have undertaken all the preliminary works and are
now seeking funding from members ,friends, Charities and other financial institutions.
The new building will provide improved: disabled access, disabled
toilets, children's toilet, kitchen facilities, play areas and meeting rooms. The cost of the new Community Hall is
£500,000.00
We provide services for young and old in our weekly schedule. Further details about the project can be obtained by contacting the Project Co-ordinator - Eddie East

We will keep you informed of our progress in this section:
The first phase of the building
project started on 22.6.09 with the demolition of the old hall. This has now been completed and the site cleared for the foundation
to be laid. The laying of the foundation was completed in October 2010. See pictures Re-launch event 3.10.09
There was a a building project relaunch event on Saturday 3rd October 09. Guest Speaker was the
President of the BU - Rev Kingsley Appiagyei, who attended with his wife and gave a wonderful message of hope and faith in
realising God's plans for our community project.
The event was also supported by our local MP David Lammy. The event proved to be a wonderful afternoon of
thanksgiving and we were able to raise over £3000.00, with pledges to support the project, given by individuals.
Also joining in the Thanksgiving Event were our special guests from Manipur, India, Rev Asong Leivon and his
wife.
MP David Lammy gave his support to the project and the prospects of providing better facilities to the community
of Tottenham.
START OF THE FOUNDATION
Following further meetings with the Building
contractors and CPL work on the laying of the foundation commenced on 12th July 2010. A morning of praying took place at 10am
on 12th July 2010 before the building work commenced. This meeting was well attended by members and friends of West Green
Baptist Church.
This phase of the project took 9 weeks to complete. We are still appealing for funds to continue
the further phases of the build.
Please continue to pray for the successful completion of this project.
A sponsored walk took place on 17th July 2010 in the Lee Valley Country Park. We were able to raise £667.94
A fund raising Gospel Concert was held on Friday 10th September 2010 and featured the CTT Choir ( Christians Together
in Tottenham), West Green Singers, West Green men, West Green Senior Choir, SGK Youth Choir, Young Musicians and other supporting
